Rock News: Caixa em comemoração aos 40 anos de Woodstock trará gravações inéditas

Em comemoração aos 40 anos do mais significativo festival de música do mundo, o Woodstock, chega às lojas no dia 18 de agosto a caixa especial "Woodstock - 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur's Farm", via Rhino Records. O lançamento especial trará 77 músicas, sendo que 38 delas eram inéditas em disco até então. A caixa trará os shows de acordo com a ordem de apresentação nos três dias de festival e um livreto repleto de informações sobre os shows.

Entre as músicas nunca lançadas oficialmente nos álbuns do festival está "Coming into Los Angeles" de Arlo Guthrie e "Theme for an Imaginary Western", do Mountain. No disco original de Woodstock, essas músicas foram trocadas por versões com melhor qualidade de áudio gravadas em outros shows. Três artistas ficaram de fora dessa compilação, a banda Ten Years After, The Band e Keef Hartley.

"Esta será a mais completa coleção de músicas do Woodstock", comentou o vice-presidente da Rhino, Cheryl Pawelski. "O objetivo foi torná-lo tão real quanto possável. Queremos te levar até lá [no festival]. Trabalhamos duro para fazer disso um verdadeiro documento daquele tempo�.

Outros lançamentos estão engatilhados para as comemorações pelos 40 anos do festival. As trilhas sonoras "Music From the Original Soundtrack and More: Woodstock" e "Woodstock 2", o DVD "Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music - The Director's Cut" e um novo site sobre a mómoria do evento.
