Rock News: R.E.M. lança edição comemorativa de 'Fables of the reconstruction'

A banda norte-americana R.E.M. vai celebrar o 25º aniversário de seu terceiro álbum "Fables of the reconstruction" com uma reedição de luxo remasterizada, que trará um disco bônus contendo versões demo e faixas inéditas gravadas na mesma época, intitulado "The Athens demos".

"Fables of the reconstruction" chegará às lojas no dia 13 de junho em um box contendo um pôster e quatro cards ilustrados, além de um encarte com notas escritas pelo guitarrista Peter Buck. A reedição também estará disponível digitalmente e em vinil de 180 gramas.

"Particularmente é o meu favorito. Fico muito orgulhoso de como este disco soa estranho. Ninguém, além do R.E.M., poderia ter feito esse registro", diz Buck no encarte da nova edição.

"Fables of the reconstruction" marcou o primeiro registro de Michael Stipe, Peter Buck, Mike Mills e Bill Berry em um estúdio londrino, apesar do disco duplo trazer faixas gravadas também em Athens, cidade natal da banda. Dentre estas estão a inédita "Throw those trolls away" e uma versão inicial de "Hiena", que viria a ser lançada posteriormente em "Lifes rich pageant".
